Private Percy Reginald Ford (Service Nos:V157181/VX116927) enlisted in the ACMF on 1 May 1942 and was attached to 6th Divisional Supply Depot Column AASC when he transferred to the AIF on 1 December 1942. Private Ford was attached to 21 Australian Supply Depot Coy AASC at Discharge on 5 November 1945.
Percy was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1908, second of four children of Reginald Percy Ford (b1890 in South Yarra, Victoria) and Alice May Thorne (b1878 in Corowa, NSW). Reginald worked in Melbourne as a Traveller and Druggist, and he and Alice married in 1914 in Melbourne, where they settled and raised their family and Reginald was a Traveller and then Optician.
Percy worked as a Hairdresser in 1936 in Melbourne, where he married Mary (Mollie) Jean McNaughton (b1910 Traralgon, Victoria) - Mollie was also working as a Hairdresser. Percy and Mollie settled in Melbourne, where Percy was a Hairdresser when he enlisted in the Army. Following his Discharge, Percy and Mollie lived in Melbourne and Frankston, where they raised their family and Percy was a Hairdresser. Mollie died in 1973 and Percy in 1985.
