Born 19th January 1894 Hobart Tasmania to Winston Simmons and Charlotte Martha Terry (nee Devine) he was a draughtsman when he enlisted.  He embarked Sydney 18th May 1916 on HMAT Demosthenes.  He was listed as missing on April 11th 1917 with a post card later being received stating he was a prisoner of war. 

He had been shot in the hip and died after an operation to remove the bullet.

Lance Corporal Terry died May 22, 1917 in a German hospital. 

He was buried Hamburg Cemetery Germany.
