All Three of they young solders listed below where Great Grandsons of Thomas John ka Varty 'Convict' Thomas born 1811 Gateshead, Durham, England, occupation 'Pitman' transported on the ship 'Asia' in 1831 and wife Frances May ka Fanny Wilson.
Robert John Williams Killed in Action WW1 5 Dec 1916 - Within days of his Cousin James Thomas Varty announced Sydney Morning Herald 17 Feb 1917 by Roberts mother Alice Varty Williams for both young men.
Robert John Williams brother Henry Claude Martin Williams died a few years after returning from France WW1 to Australia he suffered from the effects of Nerve Gasing which happened twice to him during WW1 he is buried at Rookwood Cemetery Date Of Interment 14.08.1923 Area Zone C Section H Grave Number 4683.
