Biography

"...3980 Private (later Sergeant) Horace Aitken Jolly, 9th (later 49th) Battalion, of Lismore, NSW. Son of James and Jessie S. Jolly. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Itonus (A50) on 30 October 1915. He was killed in action on 13 August 1916 in France, aged 21. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
