Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board
Thomas DOYLE, (Service Number 2132) was born on 1 May 1891 in Redfern and commenced work as a tool collector at Murrurundi Locomotive Depot on 1 December 1913. By the time the railway clerks recorded his formal ‘Granted leave to join Expdty Forces’ on his record card, in February 1916, he had been dead for six months.
He received a bullet wound to his back at Gallipoli on 19 August and died on the Hospital Ship ‘Rewa’ while being conveyed to Mudros. He was buried at sea, by Principal Chaplain V L Keelan.

Thomas DOYLE, (Service Number 2132) was born on 1st May 1891 in Redfern. He commenced work as a tool collector at Murrurundi Locomotive Depot on 1st December 1913.
He enlisted on 24th April 1915, the day before Anzac Day. He left Australia on 16th June on HMAT ‘Karoola’.
He received a bullet wound to his back at Gallipoli on 19th August. He died on the Hospital Ship ‘Rewa’ while being conveyed to Mudros (on the Greek Island of Lemnos). He was buried at sea, by Principal Chaplain V L Keelan.
As he has no grave his name is recorded on the Memorial at Lone Pine.
