'For conspicuous gallantry in action. He established communication to a strong point. Later, accompanied by only one man, he dispersed an enemy bombing attack. He displayed great courage and initiative throughout.'

MOTHER RECEIVES MEDAL
For conspicuous gallantry in action Sergeant G. A. Ross was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal. He was killed In October in France.
Sergeant Ross was the only son of Mrs C. Ross, of 9 Molr street,
Glenferrie, who has just received the Medal. He enlisted in 1914, and
left with the 14th Battalion, and served on Gallipoli until the evacuation.
