Son of Christian Charles Uebel and Sarah Jane Uebel of NSW. Brother of Robert Northcote Uebel who returned to Australia on 14 August 1916 having served with the 5th Field Artillery Brigade.
Prior to driving trams he trained as a Cooper
Husband of Ethel May Uebel nee Turner of Albert Street, St. Peters, NSW, later of Sans Souci, NSW. Charles and Ethel married during 1901c in Kogarah, NSW. Father of Arthur George Uebel.
