Horace Coleman was a soldier during WW1. He was a 19-year boy that lived at 53 Meyer Street, Torrens Ville, South Australia with his father David William Coleman. He was a clerk prior to enlisting and was enlisted to the army on November 10, 1917.

At this time, Horace was 5 feet 5 ¼ inches and weighed 136 lbs. He had hazel eyes and brown hair. His religion is Methodist, and his unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on the HMAT A38, 22 December 1917. The unit name was 3rd Light Horse Regiment, 33rd Reinforcement and after completing the service, he returned to Australia on the 17th July 1919. Horace Coleman religion is Methodist, his occupation is clerk. His marital status is single in which his age at embarkation is 19. Horace’s enlistment date is 10 November 1917 and the rank on enlistment is private. His AWM embarkation roll number is 10/8/5, his unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A38 Ulysses on 22 December 1917. His rank from the nominal roll is private and his unit from the nominal roll is 3rd light horse regiment.
