15 Sep 1919: Honoured Military Medal, 'Near CLER-sur-SOMME (near Bray) on 29th/30th and 31st August 1918, Private LOWE performed sterling services as a Company Scout. During 30th/31st he was almost continuously under severe Artillery, Machine Gun, and Rifle fire reconnoitring ground. His information as to enemy positions and position of troops on our flanks was invaluable to his Company Commander. For three days and nights he was untiring in his efforts to secure information and although suffering from great fatigue exhibited wonderful courage and endurance. by his devotion to duty and his indomitable spirit he set a splendid example to his comrades.'
