Biographical information (from 'Queenslanders who fought in the Great War'): WILSON, Donald Cumming. 2nd Air Mechanic, No. 1491. Born at Maryborough, and educated at the Grammar School, Maryborough. The son of the late Thomas and Annie Gumming Wilson. Enlisted September, 1916, and went into camp at Brisbane. Went to Melbourne, where he remained till May, 1917 when he qualified for the rank of mechanic. Sailed for England in May, where he remained till April, 1918, when he was sent home. His principal work during that time was repairing aeroplanes.
