Frederick's parents were Edward John Wenman and Annie Coomber who lived at Redcliffe. His father was a carpenter and Frederick attended Humpybong State School. Frederick worked as a labourer and enlisted in December 1915. He lived as a fisherman at Deception Bay after the war.
