Colonel H. Gray
Colonel Harold Gray, one of Australia's best known and best liked rifle shooting administrators, died suddenly in Hobart last Thursday. Colonel Gray, who was secretary of the Victorian Rifle Association and the Commonwealth Council of Rifle Associations since 1949, was in Tasmania attending his mother's funeral when he died. Until he took these offices, Colonel Gray was Australian director of rifle clubs. He served through out the first world war with
the 26th Battalion. At.Willlamstown on Saturday, Victorian riflemen paid tribute to Colonel Gray In the way traditional to marksmen— the range pennant was lowered to half mast position and all targets were lowered below the
surface for two minutes.
