Husband of Helna Haigh of Edward Street, Northcote, Victoria

Previously served in the Imperial Army Lancashire Regiment for twelve years and the Lancashire Artillery prior to that for two years

Served over two years in the South African War including the Tibet Campaign. Medals: Kings and Queens Medal with 8 clasps and the Tibet Campaign (1904) Medal

Commenced return to Australia on 1 April 1919 aboard HT Shropshire disembarking on 16 May 1919
