He was 39 and the son of John Abraham and Annie Christina Blencowe; husband of Ellen E. Blencowe, of 11, Loyola Avenue, Brunswick, Victoria, Australia. Native of Berwick, Victoria. His brother, Private Lewis Blencowe of the 5th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F. also fell.
INSCRIPTION on his wargrave reads:
