"PTE. A. J. PRENDERGAST

On Thursday information was received by Mr. and Mrs. J. Wellington, Milawa, that their nephew, Pte. Albert J, Prendergast was killed in action in Palestine on 3rd November. He was on service for a long time. A sister, Miss Alice Prendergast, lives with Mr. and Mrs. Wellington, and his brothers are Lennord, Victor and Cyril." - from the Wangaratta Chronicle 17 Nov 1917 (nla.gov.au)
