Thomas Henry BANTOFT was born in Chillsford, Suffolk, England in 1895

His mother was Alice Eliza BANTOFT who married William REEVE in England in 1898

He enlisted in Moora, Western Australia on 16th February, 1915 and embarked from Fremantle, WA on the HMAT Karoola on 25th June, 1915 with the 10th Light Horse Regiment, 6th reinforcements

Thomas was Killed in Action in Palestine on 28th March, 1918 - no known grave - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Jerusalem War Memorial

Plomesgate is in the county of Suffolk.

Eyke is a village and a civil parish in the Suffolk Coastal District, in the English county of Suffolk. It is located on the A1152 road near the town of Woodbridge.

He is remembered on the Eyke War Memorial which is  situated inside the parish church and takes the form of carving in the oak wood reredos behind the altar. There are 15 names for World War 1 and 3 for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled on 30th May 1920 by the Ven. J G R Darling who also did the wood carving. Reported in the East Anglian Daily Times 31st May 1920.
