Son of Alice Maud Rawlings formerly Facey of Homedale Crescent, Hurstville, NSW

Husband of Yvonne Daisy Facey of Hutton Street, Manly, NSW later of Great Bardfield, Braintree, Sussex, England

In May 1918 he was court martialled for using insubordinate language to a Superior Officer and disobeying a lawful command. Found guilty and dismissed from the service

In 1920 he was a temporary Lieutenant in the British Army Regular Forces before returning to Australia in 1921
