Lance Sergeant Leslie Ronald Landers (Service No:V38135) first enlisted in the Citizens Miltary Force on 14 February 1938 as a Private attached to 22/29 Infantry Battalion. He was a Lance Sergeant on 4 July 1940 when he enlisted in the ACMF and was attached to 29 Infantry Battalion when he Discharged on 2 June 1941 (Reserved Occupation).

Born in 1920 in Rushworth Victoria, Leslie was the youngest of four children of William Henry Landers (b1885 in Dimboola, Victoria) and Ethel May Stephens (b1888 at Tower Hill nr Warnambool, Victoria). William (a Baker) and Ethel married in 1906 at Tower Hill, Victoria and lived in Mirboo, Koroit, Geelong and Melbourne where they raised their family and William was a Baker.

Leslie worked as a Motor Mechanic in Melbourne, Victoria and in 1938 enlisted in the CMF - in 1940 when he enlisted in the ACMF he stated his occupation as Sheetmetal Worker. Following his service, Leslie settled in Melbourne, Victoria where he worked as a Motor Mechanic. In 1945 he married Aileen Doris Leggett (nee McPherson; b1920 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Aileen was a Widow. By 1970 Leslie had remarried Beverley Elizabeth Cunningham and the couple settled in Gosnells WA where Leslie was a Motor Mechanic. Leslie died in 1986.
