Brother of (Herbert) Ernest Quirk who returned to Australia on 26 November 1918  having served with the 5th Battalion; Harold Quirk who returned to Australia on 30 January 1918 having served with the 37th Battalion; Frank Quirk who returned to Australia on 21 March 1918 having served with the 24th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 27 July 1917 aboard HS Demosthenes disembarking on 24 September 1917.
