Robert Leonard Pitcher
My Grandfather Robert Leonard Pitcher was a genuinely lovely man, loved by everyone. One of few people I've ever known who would never have made any enemies.
He was much loved by my Grandmother Ethel Ruth Pitcher (Bonney) and loving Father of 4 children, Len, Laurie, Mick, Bonnie.
My Grandparents married in Geelong in 1926.
I'm told my Grandfather enlisted voluntarily to serve in WW2 and was the oldest man in his Regiment.
He was a Sergeant, walked the Kokoda Track and fought in Port Morseby,
Sadly he passed away aged only 74, he died on the very day my pregnancy was confirmed of my first child.
My Grandmother moved in with my Auntie Bonnie and her Husband who lived in Doveton, Victoria for some years until they all moved to Miami, Queensland.
My Grandmother had her own caravan/annexe as did my Aunt and her husband and my Uncle Len and his wife.
They lived in the caravan park until my Nan's health began to deteriorate at which time she was placed into Aged Care.
She passed away in 1996 aged 88.
