Corporal Noel Percival Andersen (Service No:10770) enlisted in the Army in Maryborough, QLD as a Private on 9 July 1940 and served with 2/25 Battalion in the Middle East (7 April 1941 - 28 May 1942) and New Guinea (19 July 1943 - 12 February 1944). On his return to Australia in 1944, Corporal Percival was admitted to Biggenden Military Hospital (Malaria, Pneumonia and Tonsilitis) and was attached to 2/25 Battalion at Discharge on 21 October 1944. Son Trevor (Lance Corporal; Service No:1411107) served with 8th Field Ambulance and 1st Australian Field Hospital RAAMC in the Vietnam War.

Noel was born in Childers, QLD in 1919, youngest of four children of Rudolph Christian Andersen (b1883 in Bundaberg, QLD) and Jessie Ross Price (b1882 in Brisbane, QLD. Rudolph was a Labourer in Apple Tree Creek via Childers and Jessie was a Teacher there when they married in 1911. Rudolph and Jessie lived at Apple Tree Creek, where Rudolph was a Farmer, before settling in Dallarnil via Biggenden in 1919. Rudolph worked as a Storekeeper, Auctioneer and Commission Agent. Jessie died in 1926.

Noel was working in Dallarnil as a Truck Driver in 1940 when he enlisted in the Army. Following his Discharge, in 1945 in Maryborough QLD he married Nancy Ellen Gourley (b1918 in Dalby, QLD) - Nancy was living in Maryborough. Noel and Nancy lived in Dallarnil where Noel was a Labourer, before settling in Biggenden, where they raised their family and Noel was an Auctioneer. Noel died in 1970 and Nancy in 2002.
