Brother of Percy George Hussey who returned to Australia on 5 June 1916 having served with the 13th Light Horse Regiment and Rowland Lorne Hussey who returned to Australia on 12 May 1916 having served with the 23 Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 15 June 1919 aboard HT Essex disembarking on 25 July 1919
