Frank Pierpoint LAXTON was born in 1887 at Murtoa, Victoria
His parents were Edward LAXTON and Elizabeth BURTON who married in 1883 in Victoria
He enlisted for WW1 on 6th January, 1915 & embarked from Brisbane with the 11th Light Horse Regiment on 2nd June, 1915 on the HMAT Borda
Frank died of wounds on 19th April, 1917 in Palestine and was first buried near Wadi Sihan, outside of Gaza and re-interred in the Gaza War Cemetery
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and the Dalby Honour Roll in Queensland - he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
