Emigrated aged 22.

He and his brother, Lieutenant William Forster, 21st Battalion, Australian Infantry, A.I.F., who was killed in action at Bullicourt, France on 3 May 1917,  aged 25, are commemorated on the Inch War Memorial. This memorial is set into the right hand side of the main entrance of Inch Parish Church, Castle Kennedy, Stranraer, Wigtownshire. The church is around 2 miles from Stranraer just off the main road to Dumfries. The plaque is cast in bronze. The rope in the photo is attached to the church bell. It lists 32 names from the First World War only listed by surname, forenames and Regiment. It gives no dates or ranks.

They were sons of William and Ellen Forster, of Mains of Larg, Newluce, Wigtownshire, Scotland.
