Private Lindsay Norman Dellar (Service No:V359095) served in the ACMF with 21 Battalion VDC from 7 May 1942 to 17 September 1945.
Lindsay was born in Rainbow, Victoria in 1909, fourth of nine children of Richard James Dellar (b1865 in Bochara, Victoria) and Marion Esther Johns (b1883 in Warracknabeal, Victoria). Richard was a Farmer in Kurnbrunin nr Rainbow in 1904 when he and Marion married in Jeparit, Victoria. They lived in Kurnbrunin and Danyo where they raised their family and Richard was a Farmer until his death in 1935.
Lindsay worked as a Farm Labourer and Farmer in Danyo and in 1936 married Bertha Sylvia Niejalke (b1914 in Rainbow, Victoria). By 1942 Lindsay and Bertha had settled in Red Cliffs in Mildura, where they raised their family and Lindsay worked as a Dairyman and Horticultural Labourer. Lindsay died in 1976 and Bertha in 1994.
