"NUMINBAH FATALITY
Mr Herbert McGregor succumbed to injuries received, when his car overturned at Numinbah last week, in the General Hospital on Friday and the funeral, which was very largely attended, moved from St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Southport on Saturday afternoon to the Nerang Cemetery after a very impressive service conducted by Rev J. McDiarmid. Near the cemetery the cortege was met by the Nerang Returned Soldiers who preceded to the cemetery where the deceased who was a digger of the first war was accorded a military funeral. The Southport League was represented by Mr S. H. Morgan T. J. Brown and W. Roberts, the "Last Post" was sounded by Mr George Panitz. Deep sympathy is extended Mrs McGregor and family in their sad bereavement." - from the Southport South Coast Bulletin 23 Apr 1947 (nla.gov.au)
