Son of James Alfred and Isabella Cheeseman of 20 Shaftsbury Road, Southsea, England; brother of Eric Septimus Cheeseman MM. Another brother was severely wounded

Husband of Hilda Cheesman. Sydney and Hilda married in the middle of October in Liverpool
