George Leslie Blythman was born on the 26th of August 1897. He was born to Elizabeth Crane and Thomas Blythman in Kangarilla, SA. Before the war started he was a Labourer. He first Enlisted on the 26th of April 1916 and trained until his Embarkation on the 9th of October 1916 from Melbourne, Australia on the HMAT Clan McEwen A65. He was single and aged 20 when he went to war and his Next of Kin was his mother Elizabeth (Lizzie). His service number was 2997 and he was ranked as a private. His unit was the 3rd Horse Light Regiment who fought in Gallipoli and between August 1916 and March 1918 he was ranked through from the 21st to 35th reinforcements. He returned to Australia on March 4th 1919. After the War he met Frances Doreen Wait. on the 14th of July 1928 They got married. They had multiple kids who got married and had kids themselves. Leslie died on the 15th of February 1957 aged 60 while Frances died almost 50 years later at 94.
