Military Service: 6030 Private Harold Walkley, Enlisted 20 April 1916 His Unit was 19/10 Infantry Battalion - 13 to 23 Reinforcements (January-November 1916), WW1, 1914-1918, Date of embarkation: 12 August 1916, Place of embarkation: Adelaide, Ship embarked on: HMAT Ballarat, Ship number: A70. Previous Occupation was a Bookmaker. Wife Martha Mabel (nee Todd) of Mann Street Brompton Park Adelaide, SA later changed to 68 Gilles Street. Previous service, 85 days AIF discharged as medically unfit. On enlistment he was 33 years and 9 months, 5'6" tall, weighed 134lb, medium complexion, blue eyes, brown hair and religion - congregational. Overseas Service: embarked Adelaide 12/8/1916 disembarked Plymouth England 30/9/1916. 13/2/1917 returned to Australia on HMAT Benalla, discharged Adelaide 16/11/1917 with Synovitis right knee. Total Service 1 year 25 days, overseas service 242 days
