Survived all the way from Gallipoli and married a Scottish girl in Edinburgh at the end of the war.
Moved to Newcastle and worked on the coke ovens at the BHP.

Marriage Edinburgh
Married Flora Elsie George MacDonald in Edinburgh June 22nd 1918. Had a daughter Flora Jean. All three sailed for Australia aboard the SS Freidrichsruh. Flora's brother John Robert MacDonald (Private) arrived in Queensland around 1912. Enlisted at Rockhampton. Buried at Ari Burnu cemetery ANZAC Cove.
