Eric Cumming
Eric Cumming was almost certainly the first-cousin of fellow soldiers Redmond and Derwas Cumming of Western Australia. All three served at some time in the 16th Battalion which was substantially a West Australian unit. Eric and Redmond sailed for Egypt on the same ship.
Eric was born 1896 at Perth, the son of Duncan Cumming and Helen Louisa (nee Stevens). He survived the war and died aged 88 years on 22 Feb 1984 at Scarborough, W A. His body was cremated and the ashes scattered to the winds at Karrakatta.
