Joseph Hoare & WW 2
Joseph Hoare served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force in Africa and Palestine in 1942-1943. Dad's attitude was that Britain and Australia were in danger when Italy entered the War, He had fought in the Battle of El Alamein in Egypt in 1942 but was invalided back to Australia due to dysentery. He spent the rest of the War in Sydney. On 28 April 1945 he married Emily Ellen Snape at St Paul's Anglican Church Redfern
