Uncle Fred
Right up until 2022 I had never known that my Uncle Fred served in WW2. After seeing this photo I checked DVA's nominal roll and sure enough Fred did serve. WX18389.
His wife Ethel was my father's sister. They lived at Cottesloe in Western Australia, right next to the suburb that the nominal roll shows as where Fred enlisted.
Fred spoke with an English accent all of his life. He was a happy chap. Never saw him in a bad mood. We kids loved him.
