Son of William Peter O'Halloran and Helena O'Halloran of Orange, NSW.

Husband of Rowena Nancy Williamine O'Halloran nee Goodman of Terrigal, NSW. John and Rowena married during 1907c in Balmain, NSW. Rowena died in 1917c in Woollahra, NSW. Father of Marjorie Phyllis O'Halloran, Ellen Rowena O'Halloran and Dorothy Matilda O'Halloran

Later changed to his his brother George Sylvester O'Halloran of Singleton, NSW.

Commenced return to Australia on 8 August 1916 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 24 September 1916

Left Australia on 22 October 1918 and returned to Australia on 12 December 1918 troopship HT Boonah having been recalled, disembarking at Adelaide for on ward travel to Sydney.

Commenced return to Australia on 1 November 1919 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 15 December 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
