Biography

The son of William & Dinah Thorley, Melbourne Road, Yea, Victoria.

His occupation was a butter maker at the Yea Butter factory.

He returned to Yea after the war staying a few years before heading to the Western District town of Beulah and worked in the Saddlery Trade. He married there on the 16 August 1928 and they moved to Melbourne where he continued in the Saddlery trade and was assigned the task of making the harness for the elephants for the Melbourne Zoo. On the death of his wife, Elizabeth, on the 28 August 1983, he moved to Queensland to stay with relatives on his wife's side and in latter life he went into the Tri Care Centre, Mermaid Beach where he died.
