Private Reginald James Wills (Service No:V508426) initially Attested for the ACMF on 5 March 1942 and was called up for Full Time Duty (FTD) on 1 April 1943. He was taken on strength with RRD Royal Park and then 2 Services Training Depot. On 19 June 1943 Private Wills was transferred to 17 Garrison Battalion and then Discharged on 23 December 1943 (rural industry employment).

Reg was born in Warracknabeal, Victoria in 1924, eldest of two children of Samuel James Wills (b1885 in Kewell, Victoria) and Annie Louise Christian (b1899 in Willenabrina, Victoria). Samuel worked as a Labourer and Groom in Warracknabeal, where he and Annie married in 1923. In the late 1920s they lived in Beulah, where Samuel was a Fruiterer before settling in Cambrian Hill nr Ballarat where Samuel was a Dairy Farmer until his death in 1940. Annie later remarried.

Reg was working at Newport as a Farm Labourer when he enlisted in the ACMF, and in 1946 married Dorothy May Allen (aka May; b1927 in Ballarat, Victoria). Reg and May settled in Smythesdale where Reg was a Labourer and Railway Employee before moving in the late 1950s to Ballarat where they settled and raised their family and Reg was a Railway Employee and Labourer. Reg died in 2005 and May in 2023.
