Private Albert Percy Walker (Service No:NX53943) enlisted in the AIF on 9 July 1940 (having given his DoB as 30 Nov 1902 instead of 1894) and was attached to 18th Recruit Training Battalion and 3rd Battalion. Private Walker was attached to 6 Division Ammunition Sub Park when he embarked with his Unit from Sydney for the Middle East, returning on 18 April 1942 to Adelaide on board USS West Point. Private Walker served in New Guinea (15 September 1942 - 2 May 1944) and was attached to 102 General Transport Coy AASC (Driver) at Discharge on 27 September 1944.

Born in Parkes, NSW on 30 November 1894, Percy was fifth of ten children of Robert George Young Walker (b1861 at Burrangong, NSW) and Rozetta Thorby Harris (b1866 in Molong, NSW). Robert (a Farmer) and Rozetta married in Molong in 1885 and settled at Peak Hill via Parkes, where they raised their family and Robert was a Farmer.

Percy worked as a Labourer in Peak Hill, and was a Butcher in 1940 when he enlisted in the Army. Following his Discharge, Percy worked in Peak Hill as a Butcher and, in abt 1948 in Marrickville, married Frances Myrtle Walsh (nee Matthews; b1899 at Peak Hill, NSW). Percy and Frances settled in Marrickville in Sydney, where Percy worked in the Metal Trades. In 1969 the couple retired to Kallangur via Brisbane, QLD where Percy died in 1972 and Frances in 1988.
