25 Aug 1916: | Wounded Edwin was admitted to the Casualty Clearing Station in France on the 26th August 1916, following a bomb accident the previous day at the Tramway Dump, E4 Central Albert. He was admitted with a shot wound (severe) to the back and was listed as dangerously ill on admission to Alexandra Military Hospital in Cosham, England on the 29th August. Edwin spent just under a year in hospital before being admitted to the 5th General Hospital in Harefield on the 18th July 1917. | |
