"...971 Private Lionel Newton Savage, 44th Battalion, of Kelmscott, WA. An electrician prior to enlistment, Pte Savage embarked on HMAT Suevic (A29) on 6 June 1916. He served in the Ypres sector of Belgium and was wounded in action on 20 October 1917. Pte Savage died of his wounds on 28 October 1917. He was 19 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
