Son of Patrick James O'Collins and Ellen Mary O'Collins nee Fitzgerald of Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park, Victoria.
On 26 August 1918 Patrick embarked HT Saint Albans at Suez for India disembarking at Bombay for service with the Indian Army.
Date of returning to Australia is not known however he was still serving in India in 1920
