Theodore's parents were Carl Herman Fisher and Rhoda Edith Von Schramm. At the outbreak of the war the family was living at Redcliffe where Carl, the Reverend C H Fisher, was the rector. Theodore enlisted at age 24 in June 1915. Seriously wounded in action, Theodore was receiving treatment at a military hospital in England when he met and married Edith Massey in August 1916. Theodore was invalided back to Australia in 1917 and lived at Woody Point. He and Edith divorced in 1919. Theodore then married Mary Ann Walshe in 1928 and he spent some time in a repatriation sanatorium in Stanthorpe. Theodore's brother, Walde Gerald Fisher [1787] was killed.
