"THE LATE PRIVATE E. G. ELEY.
Private E. G. Eley, third son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Eley, of Peel-street, Alberton, died of wounds in the Second General Hospital, France, on November 22. He was 29 years of age. He was employed at the Government Supply Stores, Port Adelaide, prior to joining the army and was popular among a large circle of friends, who heard of his death with regret." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 09 Dec 1916 (nla.gov.au)
