John Frithiof BROANDER was born in Cowra, NSW in 1876

His parents were Oscar Joseph BROANDER & Hanora Mary DUGGAN who married in NSW in 1870

He enlisted in Lismore on 14th September, 1915 & embarked with the 26th Infantry Battalion, 10th reinforcements on 28th March, 1916 on the HMAT Commonwealth

He was Killed in Action in France on 5th November, 1916 - no known grave

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial

His brother Walter BROANDER also enlisted on 14th September, 1916 in Lismore with the 5th Depot Battalion as a Private - he served to 10th November, 1915 and was then discharged due to trachoma
