30 August 1916 - enlisted at Perth, WA with the Field Artillery Brigade and with the rank of Private

22 November 1916 promoted to Corporal reverted to Private on 11 January 1917

25 January 1917 - promoted to Gunner

9 May 1918 - transferred to the 5th Field Artillery Brigade

Commenced return to Australia on 19 April 1919 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 31 May 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

24 June 1919 - discharged at the 5th Military District
