Lieutenant Maude Watterson (Service No:WX22215) enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) on 8 January 1943 as a Sister attached to 118 General Hospital Northam. Promoted to Lieutenant on 8 November 1943, Lieutenant Watterson was posted at 1010 AGH (Riverwood, NSW) and No 113 (Concord) Military Hospital. At Discharge on 10 February 1947 Lieutenant Watterson was attached to 101 Perth Military Hospital.

Born in 1920 in Roelands, Harvey WA, Maude (Biddy) Bridgette  was the youngest of seven children of John Gill Watterson (b1872 on the Isle of Man, Scotland) and Edith Marie Clow Miller (b1879 at Port Pirie, South Australia). John had left home at twelve years of age, working on sailing ships for seven years before settling in Western Australia. John (a Miner) and Edith married in 1901 in Boulder, WA where they lived and John worked as a Miner before moving to Roelands in Harvey, WA where John was a Farmer. John served in WWI (Private; Service No:2961) and died in 1933.

Biddy worked as a Nurse in Kattanning, WA before her enlistment in the Army. Following her Discharge, Biddy married Bevin Lindsay Gordon (b1923 in Maitland, South Australia) - Bevin served in WWII. Biddy and Bevin settled in Maitland, South Australia where Bevin was a Carpenter. Bevin died in 2008 and Biddy in 2011.
