Presentation to Codrington Soldier
On Tuesday evening a number of people assembled at the residence of Mrs. Roberts at Codrington to bid farewell to Mr. Cecil Roberts, who has enlisted for active service. Mr. F. Down presided, and referred to the patriotism of Mr. Roberts in offering his services to the Empire. His remarks were endorsed by Mr. F. Dyson, and the chairman presented the young soldier with a wristlet watch. A nicely worded letter from his old schoolmates and residents of the district was also handed to Mr. Roberts, who suitably responded.
