Biography

George Grant Geddes ANGUS was born in 1894 in Talbot, Victoria

His parents were Thomas ANGUS and Jane GEDDES

He enlisted on 17th July 1915 - he was a Private with the 6th Battalion, 13th reinforcements - Unit embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Demosthenes on 29th December, 1915

George was Killed in Action on 21st August 1916 at Pozieres, France - No known grave - he is commemorated at the Australian National Memorial, Villers Bretonneux and the Australian War Memorial

He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal

TALBOT LEADER - 23rd September 1916

On 21st Aug. 1916, Private George Grant Geddes Angus, 22 years of age, only son of Mr. & Mrs. T. Angus, Majorca, fell in France.  The deceased soldier was a native of Talbot and deep sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents by a large circle of friends.
