My Father's Uncle.

Robert was born 2 October 1893 at Tumby Bay, South Australia.
He was the 9th child of Charles & Ann Paul (Nee Lakin).
He was a farmer .
As did his brother, Harry, Bob lived 2 miles from the school which he attended from 1903 -- 1907 when he left to go to work.
Bob enlisted 11 May 1915 aged 21 years 5 mos. He joined the 9th Light Horse and sailed on the "Euripides " for Egypt.
He was Lance Corporal #1209, Classification H---Hodgekiss Gunner.
He served in Heliopolis, Alexandria, Serapeum, Sari Blair, Ras el Tin.
He was wounded 22/4/1917---Gunshot wound to thigh.
He was discharged 14 June 1919.
Bob married Margaret (Meg) Low from Chryston, Lanarkshire, Scotland and they had 2 children.
Bob died 20 April 1973 aged 79 and is buried in the Tumby Bay Cemetery, Grave C24.
