Frank was born as Francis Claude KENNIFF in 1886 in Douglas Park, Camden, NSW

His parents were Michael Joseph KENNIFF and Teresa O'HARE

He was living in Curra Creek via Wellington before he enlisted in Liverpool on 13th April, 1915 with the 12th Light Horse Regiment - he was with the 3rd reinforcements who embarked from Sydney on HMAT Runic on 9th August, 1915

He started out in the 12th Light Horse Regiment as a Private and then transferred to 1st Light Horse as a Trooper & then back to the 12th Light Horse

He was wounded in action in Beersheba on 31st October, 1917 but remained on duty

Frank died of broncho pneumonia on 23rd August, 1918 at the 14th Australian General Hospital in Port Said - he is buried in Port Said Military Cemetery - his name is memorialised at the Australian War Memorial & the Camden District Roll of Honour

He received the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
