Edmund died on 18 Feb 1944 aged 50 near Kavieng, PNG where the Japanese had established a military base. Edmund was the Plantation Manager of the Katu Plantation - the circumstances of his death are unknown, but the area was the focus of an allied air bombing campaign at around the same time of his death.
